Wholeness Through Christ Ministry Outreach Brings Prayer, Healing and Hope to a New Generation
There are moments on a mission trip when circumstances seem to say, “This isn’t going to happen.” But there are also moments when God reminds us that He is greater than every obstacle.
That happened in Guatemala.
As we prepared to begin the Wholeness Through Christ sessions with the graduating students, the electrical power went out across the entire city. Even the school’s own generator stopped working.
Yet the sessions continued.
And what followed was an extraordinary time of prayer, ministry and spiritual breakthrough.
Passing It On
We began with TWJ2 participants, those who had attended the previous year, along with members of our team. Sixteen prayer times were held, including opportunities for some of our helpers to receive prayer themselves.
This also gave the Guatemalan participants an opportunity to practice the four areas of the Wholeness Through Christ prayer tool with people they had never met.
We were amazed at how quickly they had learned to use the tool and apply it with others.
Even more encouraging was discovering what had happened since our previous visit.
Four teachers had continued praying together throughout the past year, regularly using the Wholeness Through Christ tools. In addition, two or three others had been using the tools in their daily lives at the school and with one another.
More than seven people had taken what they learned last year and continued putting it into practice.
The ministry was not simply something that happened during a visit. It was continuing through the people who had been equipped.
Praying With The Graduates
Over three days, we prayed with 27 graduating students.
Six or seven prayer times were taking place during each of four prayer sessions, while the graduates also participated in personal prayer and a vigil.
The students brought very personal and painful issues before God.
They prayed about their relationship with Him, childhood abuse, sexual immorality and pornography. Some prayed through grief and difficult relationships with family members who had passed away. Others addressed conflicts between themselves and the school.
Some also prayed through what they described as spiritual battles involving death and suicide.
In every situation, we pointed them toward Jesus.
Jesus was the victor.
We are grateful for every student who was willing to open their heart, bring difficult things into the light and seek freedom and healing through prayer.
A New Generation
Over the next four days, we held approximately 40 prayer times.
The participants ranged in age from 9 to 39, making this a younger group than last year.
Among them were children who had been adopted from broken homes and children struggling with anger and other challenges.
Again, we witnessed what we believe were miracles of God’s timing and healing.
And we believe there are still more testimonies to come.
All for the glory of God!
Hope That Reaches Generations
The outreach concluded with a final-night bonfire, a special opportunity to gather together and reflect on everything God had done.
The organiser of our wider outreach, who coordinated the medical and dental sessions, shared something that deeply encouraged us. He believes that what Wholeness Through Christ has done at this school will have lasting repercussions, not only within the school, but within the students’ families and even generations to come.
Many of the students stood in prayer for their generations.
Our team also saw something beautiful: the joy on the faces of children after their prayer times.
Those moments reminded us that ministry is not simply about one prayer, one person or one moment.
It is about what God can begin in one life and carry forward into a family, a community and future generations.

Many of those words were remarkably accurate and precise, speaking directly to the hearts of the people receiving them.
We are deeply grateful that you joined us spiritually in Guatemala.
As we reflect on all that happened, we cannot help but believe that something significant is happening spiritually in Guatemala, something larger than what we can currently see.
We ask you to continue praying.
Pray for the students.
Pray for the teachers who have continued using the Wholeness Through Christ tools.
Pray for the children and families represented at the school.
Pray that what God has begun will continue to grow and multiply through future generations.
And above all, pray that Jesus will receive all the glory.
