The History of the Wholeness Through Christ shop
The café at Brightons Cross had closed, and a for sale notice placed in the window. A few of us wondered if this could be a way of reaching out to the community and providing a place for people to meet have a hot drink and receive help or assistance if needed.
We began to pray together God heard our prayers. Amazing things began to happen. The owner of the property took it off the market and gave it to us rent free. Having asked many people around the country and also Ireland to pray we were given a financial gift from a couple in Ireland who felt this gift would open the doors. It certainly did.The entire property needed painted. We bought the paint. It was hard work, painting greasy dirty walls and woodwork, we kept on praying. A phone call from Scottish Prison Service asking if we would be willing to allow some young men to do some work for us. Our answer was yes please. Three young men came every day for the next six weeks. The prison officer who contacted us also came and overalled all the electric wiring. Most of the furnishings came from Scottish enterprises, who as it so happened were refurbishing their offices. We had not asked them or contacted them. How could we get the furniture here? The nearest haulage contractor had heard of what we doing and also praying. He told us he had a van going to Stirling and coming back empty and offered to collect all the furnishings at no charge. Chairs arrived from the prison and a church in Braco.
